Alexander Zverev won his second Masters 1000 title of the season at the Paris Masters. The German is the only player this year to claim a Masters 1000 title on multiple surfaces, having first won in Rome.
The newly-ranked World No. 2 credited his brother, Mischa Zverev, for his victory in Paris during the post-match press conference. Mischa humorously returned the praise by sharing a funny story about Alexander shortly after the recent win.
Last week, Alexander overcame his past struggles in Paris by capturing his first Masters 1000 title in Bercy. This experience was vastly different from June when he lost the Roland Garros final to Carlos Alcaraz.
Alexander has now won five of the nine Masters 1000 titles. His first came in Rome in 2017, where he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final.
Alexander Zverev breaks records at Paris Masters
Alexander Zverev has won the Paris Masters title, defeating Ugo Humbert in the final. The German star secured the victory with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 scoreline. This marks his seventh ATP Masters 1000 title, making him the second German to win in Paris after Boris Becker.
Zverev set multiple records with this win. According to Opta, he now has the most ATP Masters titles (7) for any player born since the series started in 1990, overtaking Daniil Medvedev, who has six. His Masters 1000 victories have come in cities like Paris, Rome (twice), Cincinnati, Madrid (twice), and Canada.
Zverev has reached his 12th ATP Masters 1000 final, which is the seventh-most in history. He surpassed Becker, who appeared in 11 such finals. In 2024, Zverev has the most men’s singles match wins on tour, with a 66-20 record, beating world number one Jannik Sinner, who has a 65-6 record.
This year, Zverev has won two titles, with his first coming in Rome. He will be the second seed at the upcoming Nitto ATP Finals.
