Aaron Hicks was a frequent name in the injury list for the first six seasons, but this year in the 2022 MLB season for the New York Yankees, Hicks has been perfectly healthy, missing games only due to paternity leave. When the ball hit his leg, the Broadcaster could be heard feeling the pain himself, “Big cut and down goes Hicks, looks like a really bad one”
The other Broadcaster commented on how the cut balls from a right-handed pitcher has the tendency to follow up to that particular injury to a left-handed batter. The ball got just under the knee of Aaron Hicks.
“This is such a bummer Paul (co-broadcaster). This guy has battled injury for so long, finally hitting the way he wants to, contributing to the Yankees the way he wants to. He is in a lot of pain right now, he is leaving the game, that is just awful. Hope that he’s okay, not serious.”
In his first 76 outings, he batted .237 with six home runs, 26 RBI and 34 runs scored. For the month of July, he is hitting .385.
