Aaron Judge has been caught in a vicious spiral due to his contract issues. The New York Yankees are yet to offer Judge a contract for signing, but recent reports suggest that they are aware of the situation and are very well on top of it. But as we all know that there’s nothing concrete until all the I’s have been dotted and T’s crossed.
Yankees also have another situation at hand which involves naming their next captain and the upper management is trying to wrap their heads around naming Aaron the captain as per the managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner who stated the same in a recent interview.
“It is something that we would consider”, said Hal. This certainly indicates a strong possibility that Aaron Judge would indeed play for the New York Yankees. The Yankees are devoid of a captain ever since Derek Jeter announced his retirement back in 2014.

The New York Yankees would be hoping to solve their Aaron Judge problem quickly
Aaron Judge has been helming the Yankees aever since Derek’s retirement and without the title he has taken on responsibilities otherwise belonging to the head of the team. In an unofficial capacity, Judge definitely has been the skipper for the Yankees for quite some time now.
Whether or not Aaron longs for the official title of ‘Captain’ is something only he would know. On the ‘free-agent’ front, Hal says that communication has taken place “more than one” time which were “very positive”. “I have made it clear to him that [remaining with the Yankees] is our wish. He means a lot to this organization, and I’ve made it clear to him we’re going to do everything we can to make that happen.”
What comes out of this saga concerning Judge and his contract with the Yankees is keeping the fans intrigued and building quite the narrative for upcoming season. One thing is for sure though that the Yankees have a ton to lose if they fail to tie Aaron Judge with them.
