“Such a beast” – MLB Twitter reacts as Yankees Aaron Judge gets CROWNED as American League Player of the Week for 2nd time in a year
Fans are having mixed reactions on Aaron Judge being named American League Player of the Week. The Yankees' relentless efforts were in vain as they fell short of making the playoffs this season, breaking their streak since 2016.

Even though the Yankees can no longer compete in the playoffs, Aaron Judge, who plays in the outfield, remains optimistic about delivering strong performances in the remaining regular season matches. Judge received recognition as the top performer in the American League between September 18 and September 24, winning an award for his exceptional skills.
In the current season, Aaron Judge has once again emerged victorious to claim this award, marking his ninth overall triumph throughout his career. The outfielder did really well in five games and was the best in the American League in hitting (.529), getting on base (.619), hitting for power (1.235), overall performance (1.854), and hitting for extra bases (21).
Within a week, Judge managed to hit three balls out of the park. He displayed exceptional aim, hitting all three targets with precision in a game where his team outscored Arizona 7-1. He played very well in the game. In all four tries, he managed to hit the ball flawlessly and contributed six points to his team’s score. What he achieved was unprecedented among his teammates.
Throughout this season, he achieved three home runs in multiple games. His performance in Monday’s game against the Diamondbacks was impressive. His performance included obtaining an additional double and RBI, leading to an increase in the team’s score. This led to a considerable increase in his batting average, which reached .375.
Additionally, he has been reaching base successfully in an outstanding .483 of his at-bats, and he has driven in eight runs in his last seven games. Judge’s exceptional performance in the latter part of the season has earned him a fourth-place position among AL players, with an impressive record of 35 home runs.
His hitting ability is impressive, as he has successfully scored 15 doubles and a batting average of .266. In addition, he has achieved 71 runs and has a success rate of .402 when it comes to reaching the base. Additionally, his OPS score amounts to a cumulative 1.007 points from participating in 102 games.
Despite all efforts, the Yankees got eliminated miserably
A melancholic season for the Yankees ended on a cold and damp afternoon as they played their final home games. In the end, they managed to secure a 6-4 win over Arizona. The event took place the day following the Yankees’ official elimination from the playoffs, making it their first time being excluded since 2016.
The game was witnessed by a mere one thousand committed fans, despite expectations of 41,096 attendees. The reason behind this occurrence was that it served as a substitute for Saturday’s match, where they were distributing Aaron Judge bobbleheads. Those undeterred by the adverse weather conditions got the chance to observe aspiring Yankees players who may become famous in the future.
Young athletes Austin Wells, Oswald Peraza, and Everson Pereira significantly contributed to their team’s victory. Wells blasted a home run in the fourth inning, and in the eighth inning, he also scored the game-winning run. Despite the challenging weather, Peraza smashed a deep home run. One of Pereira’s two hits, a single, gave the Yankees the lead permanently. To earn the save, Clay Holmes threw a scoreless ninth inning.
Aaron Boone expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the new players in the eighth inning. Boone said he was happy to see that type of performance. “It was enjoyable to watch the guys perform so well. “ Wells said that the new people are trying their best to take advantage of the chances they have. Even though they’re not in the playoffs anymore, every time they’re up to bat is important,” said Wells. He has gotten 10 hits since joining the team, with six of them resulting in extra bases.
