American League Most Valuable Player, Aaron Judge is scheduled to meet the San Fransisco Giants this week. The news was confirmed through a video released by the MLB Network on their social media profile. The Californian native was rumored to receive a revised contract from the New York Yankees not too long ago, but the decision pertaining to that is still unknown.

During the interview, the star outfielder smiled and replied that he was going home this week and would love to enjoy the break. The Giants’ home stadium has posed the biggest threat to the other MLB teams, as the 4x All-Star winner’s home is just a 2 hours drive away. It would be perfect for Judge as he can visit his family anytime and vice versa.

On Monday night, Judge was spotted in San Francisco, when he noted, “Just visiting some family and friends, that’s about it,” while checking in a hotel. The Giants are also the team that Judge grew up rooting for in Northern California. Other than Giants, the Yankees and Dodgers also pose a threat to other MLB contracts.

GM Brian Cashman confirmed the Yankees’ renewed contract offer last week. Hal Steinbrenner noted that he also personally spoke with Judge, fortifying their desire to keep the outfielder with the team. Judge’s turning down the team’s initial 7-year $213.5 million contract before the Opening Day, has made many heads turn around.

Though he is yet to confirm his liking towards a particular team yet, the Giants are the first team to set up a meeting with Aaron Judge. He commented, “I’m looking forward to getting the free-agent process going,’. “I don’t know how fast or slow it’s gonna go.”

“There’s teams that we’ve talked to. For me, if we’re going to build a winning team, if I can get my stuff out of the way, it’s always an advantage. Once I get into it, it might move fast or slow. You never really know.”

Judge also noted that winning is an important factor that’ll weigh on his negotiations, “The most important thing is a winning culture and being with a team that’s committed to winning, not only for the remainder of my playing career, but I want the legacy to live on with the organization.”
