Aaron Judge named the next New York Yankees captain

Aaron Judge has been named the 16th captain in the New York Yankees franchise history. The announcement was made in the press conference held for the slugger’s new contract signing in the pinstripes. Judge signed a nine-year, $360 million deal with the Hal Steinbrenner owned side.

Hal Steinbrenner stated that despite a few contract struggles, it was an honor to bring back the American League home run King back to the side. Fortunately, after the 2022 MLB season, Judge truly deserved any huge offer thrown towards him. He refused a similar deal from the San Fransisco Giants only to build his legacy in the pinstripes.

“I will continue to lead by example. There’s going to be couple of more responsibilities with this, but I’m here to embrace every single obstacle and continue to lead this team and lead this city to not one but multiple championships down the road,” added Yankees’ New Captain, Aaron Judge.

“I want to say, thank you to everybody, my wife, Samantha, and my family being here. That means a lot. Thank you, guys.”

Judge previously brushed aside the seven-year extention offer by the Yankees ownership, the deal was worth $213.5 million. He was seen wandering around the San Fransisco area with sources revealing that the Giants have shown interest in the six-foot seven inches slugger.

New York Yankees have won 27 titles in the 40 appearances they have made in the World Series Finals. There last came in 2009 when Derek Jeter held the captain baton. Coach Brian Cashman is delighted to welcome back the AL MVP as he feels it is their time to lift the championship trophy.
