Albert Pujols hits career HR no.703, it feels like he comes with a motive at every at-bat. A motive to stay clear on top amongst the greatest who ever played in Major League Baseball. The 42-year-old slugger connected for the St. Louis Cardinals off Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller, snapping a scoreless tie in the sixth inning.

Albert Pujols now has a total of 2,216 RBIs. He overtook legendary Babe Ruth on the all-time chart. Hank Aaron is the player sitting on top, holding the record with 2,297.

“He’s feeling pretty good about where he is and he’s taking some elite swings, and they’ve been meaningful,” Cardinal’s manager Oliver Marmol said of his star slugger Albert Pujols, as his stature and gameplay suggests, has outplayed all the youngsters in the MLB around him.

“Passing Babe Ruth is a big deal,” St. Louis Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said after his team’s 3-2 loss. “Seeing him hit a home run in that situation was fun to watch. You feel pretty good about where you’re at whenever he swings, and his home runs have been very meaningful.”

Pirates’ standout rookie and fellow Oneil Cruz, a prospect wanting to write his name in the MLB history, was thankful to have been in the same game with Albert Pujols, “Like I’ve been saying a lot lately, what Albert Pujols is able to do right now is something marvelous, It’s something that’s coming from God above.

“This amazes all of us and gives us a lot of pride and gives us a lot of hope toward the future. I admire him a lot, and to be able to see what he’s doing, it’s impressive. It’s something that definitely makes an impact in my life and motivates me going forward, as well.”
