Atlanta Braves clinch 5th straight playoff berth, but do they have what it takes to grasp the title ?

Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves join the NY Mets, Houston Astros and LA Dodgers to become the fourth Major League Baseball team to assure a place in the play-offs this season. With their 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night, the Braves have been able to clinch their fifth straight play-off berth.

Though the moment calls for celebration as the Braves have positively secured a place in the play-offs and are in the run for winning the title again, Braves player Snitker has a different approach. Asked whether his team would celebrate the occasion, Snitker said: “Everyone is tired, All these guys want to go home and get a good night’s sleep, because a 12 o’clock game will come early tomorrow.”

The New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves are fighting tooth and nail for the National League East Division title. Currently the Braves and Mets are 93-55 and 95-55 respectively, with the Atlanta Braves just one game behind the New York Mets. The Braves have won 5 straight games whereas the Mets have won 6 straight games. Who will take the title is tough to speculate at the moment.

“It’s a marathon, it’s not over,” says d’Arnaud on the ongoing race to win the title with the Mets “So we’ll just keep going after it until the end.” The 3 series game being held at the Truist Park between the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets from the 30th of September to the 2nd of October may seem to be a decider of who takes home the title.
