“There’re too many free passes on the New York Yankees,” Brandon Tierney said. “First of all, I know [Joey] Gallo’s gone, we wish him well…but Gallo played far too often without merit. Aaron Hicks plays far too often without merit.”

Tierney added, “Josh Donaldson bats in the middle of the order too much without merit. Some of these relievers don’t belong here. They’re getting a chance to pitch without merit. That is an issue for the 2022 Yankees.”

Brandon Tierney was not stopping at that, he said the Mets Manager Buck Showalter has been impressive this season, “Buck has everything situated, everything is normalized and there’s a flow. At the end of the day, the Yankees might not be good enough to do whatever we want them to be able to do, but the free passes have to stop.”

Brandon Tierney continued, “Hicks was 0-for-33 at one point and he’s still rolling him out there. Are you kidding me? Donaldson…his power numbers are still abysmal, and Donaldson, despite a lack of efficiency, is still batting third or fourth. Why?”

According to him, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Josh Donaldson, and Aaron Hicks are not even in the top 5 on the team in total plate appearances this season, on the other hand, Joey Gallo is ninth on the team in plate appearances, finishing his Yankee season with a .621 OPS

Brandon Tierney concluded, “This may be an old school mentality, but I still subscribe to the notion of, ‘If you’re not doing your job, you shouldn’t get rewarded.”
