With a 10-4 win against the Texas Rangers and a 4-1 defeat of the Chicago White Sox against the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Guardians finally clinched their first American League Central title since 2018. While witnessing at least 16 rookies make their MLB debut, the Guardians have created history by becoming the first team in history to ever do so.

From having only a projected 6.4% chance of winning the American League Central title to actually being able to accomplish the task, the Cleveland Guardians have come a long way. All this was done with determination, belief, trust and a little bit of luck. None had imagined The Guardians would achieve this.

“Each team has its own identity and its own unique chemistry, and it takes a while for that to build over time,” Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said. “You can see over the course of the year that identity continued to build, and then guys embraced it and took off with it.”

The Cleveland Guardians started the match on a very positive note. As team manager Terry Francona addressed the team, boosting their morale. “I told them, ‘Hey, when this happens, you guys have earned the right to blow it out,’” Francona said. “The way they had to work, the way they played to get here, they can yell all night. I’ll sit here and let them yell all night. I don’t care what time we get home.”

With Terry’s words of encouragement, The Guardians came out victorious. The win tasted sweet. Champagne corks popped as they sipped the bubbly and chomped pizzas during the victory dance. Selfies were the norm, as pop bulbs kept going. It sure was the best day for The Guardians in a long time
