“I turned off the TV”: Conan Gray slammed by MLB fans, the worst national anthem performance till date

Conan Gray was set to grab the nations attention with the chance to sing the National Anthem of the United States of America to kick off the Major League Home Run Derby. He did sing but to him ill-fate the attention he got for singing the national anthem was only negative. The fans said they wanted to turn off the television in order to stop listening to the anthem.
Conan Gray started his career on YouTube and his first album went gold in 2020. When the combination of his voice and the National Anthem was heard publicly. The fans were left unimpressed and they did not hold back on their comments on social media.
Conan Gray became a popular voice on TikTok, has over 21 million monthly listeners on Spotify. But the MLB fans tweeted saying, “Not to be a hater but just watched Conan Gray sing the national anthem and it was so bad I turned off my tv #HomeRunDerby #nationalanthem”
Twitter reacts to Conan Gray’s so called worse US National Anthem Performance
The 23-year-old California native was wearing a Los Angeles Dodger jersey while performing the anthem and though he looked great, it didn’t matter to the viewers. It was his singing that they focused on.
Viewers then compared the performance to Fergie’s rendition at the 2018 Home Run Derby. However, others said that Gray’s performance was worse than the Meet Me Half Way singer.
Another MLB fan tweeted, “There are two groups after the Home Run Derby: 1. People who don’t know what a home run derby is and loved the fact that Conan Grey sang the national anthem. 2. People who revere the Home Run Derby and admit that that was the worst thing I’ve heard since Fergie. 2 is right.”
Some MLB fans called Conan “tone deaf” while others said that there was “no worse national anthem” than the one they had just heard. This was a thought that was definitely echoed by a number of Home Run Derby viewers.
