The New York Yankees have had 15 captains who have been a part of their legacy, Aaron Judge can be the next to join the succession. According to Nestor Cortes, if Judge decides to return to the Bronx next season, he will lead the Yankees in the 2023 season. The likely AL Most Valuable Player, Judge batted .311/.425/.686 in 157 games.

“He’s meant everything,” Nestor Cortes said. “I think I’m able to say that if he’s back here next year, he’s our captain; he’s the next captain. We follow everything he does. He leads by example.”

Aaron Judge has led the Yankees with conviction which made Cortes feel that he is in line to join the captaincy succession, he added, “He’s not really a guy that comes out and screams at anybody. But if he has to, that’s his job. I think he’s earned that right to keep us in check.”

“What allows him to be so great, I feel like, is he’s a great baseball player, but he’s a better human. He treats everybody the same. He follows up on everybody every day. That’s what allows him to be who he is.”

Houston Astros dominate Yankees in Game 3 IMAGO/ USA today

Houston Astros eager upon letting the world know that they are high on confidence and determined to push aside the Yankees to enter World Series 2022. The Pitching performance by Cristian Javier, a blasting homer by Chas McCormick in the 2nd inning and an important hit by veteran catcher Christian Vázquez in a three-run sixth helped the Astros crush the pinstripes, 5-0, in Game 3 of the ALCS Saturday night at Yankee Stadium.

“Well, I don’t know if dominant’s the word,” manager Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker said. “I mean, all of ’em are close, except tonight. So I don’t think about being dominant. I just think about just scoring one more run than they score and winning the ballgame.”

“The Yankees are always dangerous, especially here in New York, so we got an opportunity to close it out and win tomorrow, so we’re going to take every opportunity to try to do that.”
