Major League Baseball legend Derek Jeter spent all his 20 years in the majors with the New York Yankees and was inducted into Baseball’s Hall of Fame in the year 2020. Post retirement he became the CEO and part owner of the league’s Miami Marlins from September 2017 to February 2022. Derek has numerous laurels to name his name, in course of his 20 years career.
Once in the year 2016, Derek Jetter got the lucky opportunity of interviewing the then President of the United States of America, Barack Obama for The Players’ Tribune in the month of June.
In which Jeter mentioned about how both their retirements was quite different from each other. Where Barack Obama mentioned he wasn’t as young as Jeter.
All Derek Jeter had to say was “Thank you, can you repeat that? Because, you know, when you’re in sports, they say you’re old at 30, so thank you.” and then came the troll from Barack Obama-
“For a baseball player, you were old. Let’s face it. C’mon, man. We saw you trying to run around those bases.”

There was another such incident between the then President of the Unites States of America and New York Yankees former captain Derek Jeter in month of November 2015 where the both of them met on a golf course, in Nevada. Barack Obama didn’t expect Jeter to be good at golf, and that’s where Barack Obama had to pay the price.
“[Las Vegas Sun owner Brian Greenspun] and Derek Jeter stole money from me at Shadow Creek,” Obama said of Greenspun, referring to the course in North Las Vegas.
“It was clearly a setup, because when we got to the practice range, he was shanking balls everywhere. I said, ‘You play golf Derek?’ And he said, ‘I just started two weeks ago.'”
They gave Jeter some 30 strokes and soon realized, the mishap. “We had to take a picture of me handing Derek Jeter money at the end of the game. Despite that, Brian is a great friend.”
