Francisco Lindor and Renegade

On Tuesday, New York Met’s player Francisco Lindor smashed his 26th home run of the season. It wasn’t the home run that made all the noise but a dog which made the MLB World go crazy. But what could a dog possibly do in a ball park to win her fans?

We have heard of all the people trying to take back with themselves a home run ball, from taking Aaron Judge’s 62nd home run ball and having the chance of becoming a millionaire, and from snatching a ball from a group of young kids and getting trolled on social media, MLB has seen it all.

But this time, there were no quarrels, or any kind of ransom attached to a home run ball, so then what made it special? The fact that a very cute doggie caught Francisco Lindor’s ball made all the hype in Tuesday’s game of the Mets vs the Nationals.

On Tuesday Francisco Lindor’s home run ball was caught by a very cute golden retriever name Renegade, who had come with his brother Doak and Pawpa Chris Howland. Renegade was wearing a lovely New York Mets scarf which made her look all the cuter.

“Lindor hits the home run. I see it coming and I guess my dad instincts took over,” Doak’s owner, Chris Howland, told MLB.com. “It was literally going right for the dogs

I don’t need them taking a 110 mile-an-hour baseball in the stomach. So, I reached over my girlfriend, it hit off my finger, hit off the seat and landed on the ground. We’re scrambling for it. I came up with it and I gave it to the dog.”

I’m not sure about Renegade being a fan of Francisco Lindor but I’m pretty sure it made quite the chewy for Renegade. “In the moment I was like, ‘This is way funnier if I give [the ball] to him,’” Howland said.

“So, I handed it to him and he was cool about it, right? He was holding onto it, chewing on it. They’re both obsessed with balls to begin with, so one of them was gonna take it.”
