Juan Soto has stepped foot in San Diego, the newest Padres member was involved in one of the most exciting 2022 Major League trade deadline deal. The American League General Manager had to blink his eyes twice to see that the San Diego Padres landed Juan Soto on Tuesday evening a few hours before the trade deadline.
An American League executive said that he went breathless for a minute to see Juan Soto traded to San Diego. Abrams, LHP MacKenzie Gore, 1B Luke Voit, OF Robert Hassell III (Padres’ No. 1 prospect/No. 21 overall), OF James Wood (Padres’ No. 3/No. 88 overall), RHP Jarlin Susana (Padres’ No. 14)
“Wow,” another American League General Manager said. “Highest impact trade I’ve ever seen. [Nats GM Mike] Rizzo did a great job maximizing the return.”

General Manager John Mozeliak confirmed on Tuesday that they were not able to meet the demands made by Washington. “You saw what they got in return, it was better than what we were willing to do,” he said via Katie Woo of The Athletic. “(Outfielder fielder Dylan Carlson) was by no means why we did not get this trade done.”
“We definitely have the talent, and we have the team to do it,” said star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. “Now it’s up to us to put the work out there and make it happen.”
