The sporting world is still in shock and trying to come to face the reality regarding the deal with Shohei Ohtani. The Japanese star stunned not only the baseball world but the whole sporting realm as he agreed to a $700 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Former Dodgers star Justin Turner has now joined the others in reacting to this contract.
Turner, a free agent now, spent several seasons with the Dodgers. He has been part of their several successful campaigns and won the World Series in 2020. He would later leave them and join the Boston Red Sox in the 2023 season. Seeing the news about the contract, Turner was left speechless and decided to join in the fun like everyone else.
A major reason for this massive contract with Ohtani is his ability to play as two-ways. The Japanese international has done exceptionally well in both batting and pitching, making him a valuable asset to any team. Turner would cheekily point out that he has a career era of 0.00. This hilarious reaction from him was to signal that he can pitch too when needed.

What does the future have in store for Justin Turner?
While Justin Turner had fun in joining the sporting world reacting to this mega deal of Shohei Ohtani, several fans are now wondering about his future. The fan-favorite slugger recently declined the qualifying offer from the Red Sox and is now looking for a new team. The 39-year-old veteran is now set to enter this 15th season in the major league, but which team will he sign with?
As per recent reports, the Arizona Diamondbacks have shown interest in him and J.D. Martinez of the LA Dodgers. A move to Arizona could suit both parties as the team could lean on his mature shoulders and experience to drive them forward. The Diamondbacks shocked the world after reaching the World Series in 2023 and would surely like to make another run for the Fall Classic.
Whether this move will materialize or not also remains to be seen. Speaking of his stats last season, Turner hit 23 home runs and collected 96 RBIs with an average of .276 showcasing his batting abilities. The Red Sox though had a year to forget as they finished bottom of the American League East with a losing record of 78-84.
