“Out for 2-3 weeks”: Luis Severino suffers a damaging blow to the Injury List says Aaron Boone

On Wednesday, Luis Severino left the game in the 3rd innings informing New York Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone about his injury and powerlessness while throwing the pitch. Boone realized the dept of the situation when he noticed a dip in the right-hander’s velocity readings early. Earlier in the day, Luis Severino did feel tightness in his shoulder.
When Luis Severino was not quite able to relieve it and his pitches stalled in the low 90s. He called quits. But the Yankees being the team with the record of 62-28, overcame his early exit. Giancarlo Stanton slugged a game-tying homer and DJ LeMahieu celebrated his 34th birthday by scoring the winning run on a wild pitch in a 7-6, 10-inning victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
Later. Aaron Boone revealed that Luis Severino is most likely not envisioned to be available for another 2 weeks. In that case, His stint on the injured last will last a bit longer than 15 days. Luis has had 16 starts in the season and has a 5-3 record with a 3.45 ERA and 95 strikeouts.

Luis Severino strived before leaving the game with a shoulder injury

At first, Luis Severino was only seen talking to his manager Aaron Boone with respect to his shoulder tightness, he came back to throw with full force, retiring the next three batters. But the inevitable happened in the 3rd innings when he realised, he cannot continue.
“My first pitch was like 90, 91 [mph]. That’s not me,” Luis Severino said. “After that second inning, when I was warming up, it was getting worse. I told myself, ‘Before something even bigger happens, stop it right here.’ Hopefully it’s not something that will take that much time.”

“That’s getting ahead of ourselves,” Aaron Boone said in the post-game conference. “Let’s see what we’ve got. I certainly don’t like seeing him come out. You hope for the best tomorrow, but at least on [first] exam, there were no alarming things.”
Hopefully, with the All-Star game round the corner, Luis Severino can utilise the time he has to make progress in their rehabs. He even said that he was delighted to see his teammates pick him up when he went down agonizing his shoulder.
