“No meaningful contributions”: Marcell Ozuna lambasted by Ken Rosenthal after latest DUI arrest, 2nd in less than 15 months

Marcell Ozuna

Marcell Ozuna might have seen his last few days in the Atlanta Braves uniform, he was completely disrespected the management and his fellow players after his second arrest in less than 15 months. The first being a domestic violence case. The outfielder apparently even tried to big-time his way out of trouble, flashing his MLB ID in an attempt to coerce the police.

Marcell Ozuna has had a completely disappointing season with the Atlanta Braves and his off-field cases have been a nightmare for Atlanta’s Public Relations team. He returned to the Braves in March and has appeared in 107 games during the 2022 season, hitting .214 with 46 RBI’s and 20 home runs.

The Fox Sports Reporter asked, “Atlanta outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested Friday morning for driving under the influence. What is the latest on this story?”.

“The Braves aren’t going to do anything until they get official word on the matter, until the legal process is resolved,” Ken Rosenthal discussed. “They won’t comment until then. They won’t act until then.”

“But this is Marcell Ozuna’s second arrest in less than 15 months, the first was for domestic violence, an incident involving his wife for which he ultimately received a 20-day suspension from Major League Baseball.” Rosenthal said during FOX Sports MLB’s Saturday pregame show following Marcell Ozuna’s arrest

“Now, he is owned a total of $41 Million including $37 Million in 2023 and 2024. Once this all resolves, once the legal issue is clear, or not clear, I would expect the Braves to act and to release him,” added Rosenthal regarding Marcell Ozuna.

“And the reason is, he was not contributing to their team really in any meaningful way, not really in any way at all. He did not play the 4 games before his arrest, was not part of the championship team last year.” “So, it remains to be seen what they would do. A lot of money can be saved, and if there is a time and a player you save money on, it’s Marcell Ozuna.”
