“This guy s***s” – MLB Twitter brutally TROLLS Max Scherzer and NY Mets after disappointing loss to Yankees in Subway Series
The first game of the Subway Series between the Mets and Yankees saw another poor performance from ace pitcher Max Scherzer. His dull pitching effort saw the visitors take the first game by a score of 7-6.

The stakes were super high as the New York Mets and the New York Yankees kicked off their rivalry “Subway Series.” The two juggernauts of NY had failed to rise to the expectation and reputation placed upon them. The two franchises are going through a difficult season and are missing some of their star players.
Much has been made about the acquisition of the veteran pitching duo of Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander by the Mets. The two Cy Young award winners were brought in to stabilize their rotation with their experiences. However, both aces have not lived up to the mark. Scherzer and Verlander have struggled to replicate their heroics from the past. The former had another disappointing outing against the Yankees on Tuesday night.
Scherzer has made some dominating performances against the Yankees in the past. In their match on Tuesday, the Mets started off well in offense and put up five runs in the first three innings. Things went bad to worse in the top of fourth inning though. Scherzer gave up six of his seven hits in that inning. He also gave five runs to lose the four-run lead he had at the start. The veteran pitcher exited the game after throwing just 3.1 innings. It proved costly as the Mets lost a close game 7-6.
Everything going against the NY Mets at the moment

While Max Scherzer’s bad performance might have been saved as the Mets did level it up, it was another poor performance from him. The 39-year-old got a no-decision in his favor but he admitted that he could do better. “Gotta play better. I’ve got to be better than tonight,” he said after the game. He later added that the whole team has to come together if they were to perform better.
He gave up a two-run home run to DJ LeMahieu and perhaps was a little unfortunate to concede a soft hit to Isiah-Kiner Falefa. Scherzer was then hit by Kyle Higashioka and struggling Anthony Volpe. Things further went bad when relief pitcher Drew Smith was ejected from the game following a failed substance check. Here are some reactions reacting to yet another poor performance from Scherzer and the Mets.
The next game of the series sees a pitching dual between Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander. The two were once teammates at the Houston Astros. In a recent interview, Verlander admitted that he is waiting for the chance to go up against Cole. He will have to be at his very best if the Mets were to avoid another defeat at the hands of their worst rivals.
