The name of Alex Rodriguez instantly pops into the minds of many when it comes to some MLB greats. The former New York Yankees great has reached unprecedented heights despite retiring a few years ago. He has time and again continued to blow away the minds of fans with his off-field activities. However, there are some who are still not happy with his drug usage scandal.

Also known by his moniker of A-Rod, the player was found guilty of the usage of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) and was suspended for the entire 2014 season. At the time of the investigation into the drug scandal matter, A-Rod filed a lawsuit against the MLB. He would later drop the legal action and accepted his punishment for using steroids in his playing career. The league would slap him with a full-season suspension in 2014. Rodriguez would later admit that the PEDs cost him dearly as he lost out on many things.

A-Rod would admit that his usage of drugs cost him his reputation, his career, and a possible Hall of Fame induction. “This thing it cost me over $40 million. It cost me my reputation, and it may have cost me the Hall of Fame,he said way back in late 2017.

A-Rod would return after serving his suspension. He would end his career with 3,070 hits, 2055 RBI, and a staggering 696 home runs against his name. These stats would have been enough to see him get a first-ballot entry. However, his history with the usage of drugs is still the reason why he is not in the MLB HOF. He has once again been nominated, but judging by the reactions of fans, he might miss out again.
