Miguel Cabrera will retire at the end of the 2023 season and plans to go out swinging. The Detroit Tigers legend continued to etch himself in history books as he added another record to his name.

During the Tigers’ game against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, Miguel Cabrera achieved another milestone with the 3,115th hit of a two-decade-long career. This cracking hit puts him shoulder-to-shoulder with MLB great Alex Rodriguez as both tied for the 21st place on the all-time hit list in baseball history.

Cabrera is sure to pass Alex Rodriguez on the hit list because he still has a lot of games left before the season ends. The 40-year-old veteran had a batting average of .227 last night and the Tigers registered an easy 8-4 win as they crushed the AL Central table toppers, Minnesota Twins.

Miguel Cabrera’s MLB journey will be remembered for a long time

Miguel Cabrera played his first MLB game at the age of 20 for the Florida Marlins and quickly registered himself to be the next best thing in baseball. He won the World Series in his rookie year in 2003 with the Marlins and had a .268 batting average.

In 2008, Miguel Cabrera joined the Detroit Tigers and has been with the team ever since. He became the center point for the team and continued to dominate in the league. In his two-decade-long illustrious career, Miggy has been the recipient of countless accolades.

The Tigers legend’s awards include — 12x All-Star appearances, 2x AL MVP, and 7x Silver Slugger Award among others. In 2012, Miguel Cabrera became the 17th player to win the MLC Triple Crown leading the AL with a .330 batting average, 44 home runs, and 139 runs batted in.

Cabrera’s journey has been a perfect example of grit, determination, constant hunger for success, and immense passion for the game of baseball. While Cabrera has announced his retirement at the end of the season, the superstar plans to work with the Tigers’ organization and help mold young players.
