The name Alex Rodriguez has continued to dominate headlines despite retiring a few years ago. Popularly known by his moniker of “A-Rod”, the former baseball star is a well-known name across the country. Well, that’s what everyone hoped until Anthony Edwards, the rising star of Timberwolves failed to recognize him back in 2021. It seems the relationship between them has been repaired.

The sporting world was left in shock when Edwards revealed to everyone that he had no idea who the MLB great was. A-Rod has been making headlines for his off-field reasons as well, so for Edwards to not know him felt strange for some users. Recently, the former Yankee star shared a post on Instagram with Edwards, captioned “finally recognized me“.

In the Instagram post, A-Rod was seen smiling with Edwards. “Good news @theanthonyedwards_ finally recognized me (laughing emoji),” he wrote. The Timberwolves had a season to forget this year and faced early eliminations from the NBA season. However, A-Rod has informed us that he has some special plans for the team in the future.

Alex Rodriguez has possibly achieved everything he could have hoped from his playing career. Various All-star appearances, multiple MVP titles, and the coveted World Series ring – A-Rod won all on the pitch. After retiring from baseball following a two-decade career, A-Rod has continued to explore other business options.

He along with his business partner Marc Lore, is set to acquire a majority stake in the team. The duo is reported to get around forty percent of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx. Recently A-Rod revealed that he hopes to bring home the NBA Championship by 2028. With significant investments, he might be able to do so.

New ownership can certainly bring out fresh results. He would be hoping he can build a team around Edwards. Outgoing owner Glen Taylor is likely to stick around with a twenty percent stake. Will A-Rod aspirations come true? Only time will tell what future has in store for Rodriguez and his Timberwolves franchise.
