When it rains, it pours. It is quite common for someone who is going through a bad phase to experience more bad luck. This is the exact situation the New York Yankees find themselves in.

The team started off strong but recent results on and off-field have made the Yankees fans wish them to be swollen up by the ground. The Yankees were thrashed 15-2 by the Texas Rangers as starting pitcher Nestor Cortes had a day to forget.

The team has already seen several of their players join the unwanted injured list. They were dealt a massive blow as captain and star player Aaron Judge got injured mid-week. The slugger is expected to miss a few games. This could have a big moment so early in the season as the team finds themselves bottom of the American East table.

To say the Yankees were never in the game would be an understatement. Things started off in the worst possible way as star pitcher Nestor Cortes gave up a grand slam in the very first inning.

The All-star pitcher had the worst outing in his Yankees career as he gave up seven runs in five hits while throwing 4 2/3 innings. His second loss of the season saw his ERA skyrocket up to 4.91 from 3.49.

The Yankees have been struggling for consistency this season. Being the most successful team in MLB history comes with a price. Expectations have been raised upon this team to end their long-awaited drought of another World Series title. The 27-time champions last reached the top of the pinnacle in 2009 and since then have struggled to go through.

The team is now on a three-game losing run. They will now take on the Cleveland Guardians who themselves are yet to show signs which were seen last season. This was the second most runs they have allowed since losing 19-5 to the Guardians (then Indians) in 2019. With the two now lock in battle with each other, NY Yankees fans would be hoping to avoid anything similar to that.

The club has already lost power hitter Giancarlo Stanton. They are now reported to be making a decision whether to place Judge on the injured list as well or not. The loss of Aaron Judge in the offense makes a big impact.

Several senior players are yet to find their groove this season. They need their batters and pitchers to show up big-time now and perhaps some divine intervention if they were to save their season.
