Oneil Cruz is a beast and the Pittsburgh Pirates would certainly be feeling lucky to have him on their roster. The pirates rookie recently did something that was unheard of for any player in the MLB. Clocking a base hit at 122.4mph off the surface of the baseball bat, Cruz broke Giancarlo Stanton‘s 122.2mph record when playing for the New York Yankees.

The Pirates must be feeling that they have got a gem on their hands and Cruz is proving that the Pirates are not wrong with his stellar performance. The shortstop rookie is a power-packed beast who just loves to deposit the oddball into the stands. Cruz has a 6ft 7in stature that is just massive for an MLB player. Cruz, a native of Nizao in the Dominican Republic, has played roughly 90 games in the MLB but that was enough to set the stage for him as one of the best young players out there rocking at the largest platforms.

Oneil has made the headlines once again as his video of playing in his home country D.R. is posted by reporter Héctor Gómez on Twitter. In the video, Cruz is seen playing a softball game with some kids around. He hit a humongous home run which the other players were literally shell-shocked to witness.

Oneil Cruz has set Statcast (2015 onwards) records to hit a ball the hardest and for assisting the hardest infield throw. Not only these, but Cruz also has certain other sets of abilities and skills that make him a tick in the MLB and we’re sure there are many more records out there for Cruz to shatter.

Only 24-year-old, Oneil Cruz finished the 2022 season with an average of .233, hitting 17 home runs, and having 54 RBIs complimented by a 0.744 OPS. It’s safe to say, the world is yet to witness his peak as he continues to unleash madness on the ground. The Pittsburgh Pirates would definitely have to remain wary of his contract and other teams pouncing on their star.
