“Achievement unlocked”- Twitter reacts to Philadelphia Phillies 10,000 wins milestone

10,000 wins for the Phillies
With their victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, the Philadelphia Phillies became the ninth MLB team to reach 10,000 victories overall. MLB’s Philadelphia Phillies have played for 140 seasons. 79 unsuccessful seasons. 11,163 defeats in 14 appearances in the playoffs. Seven pennants. Two World Series champions. 10,000 wins as well.
The Phillies defeated the Reds 11-4 to pull off the historic victory. With two home runs and five RBI, Rhys Hoskins was the star. Garrett Stubs and Nick Castellanos each hit home runs for Philadelphia. The Phillies increased their record to 65-51 with the victory, and they now hold a 1.5-game lead over the National League’s other wild card team. On Wednesday, Philadelphia will try to sweep Cincinnati in three games.
Is this milestone really one to be celebrated by the Philadelphia Phillies?

The Phillies have finally entered baseball’s 10,000-win club, more than 15 years after the team made the questionable distinction of being the first franchise in Major League Baseball history to lose 10,000 games. The Phillies took the longest of all the clubs to reach this milestone, which is not surprising considering they were the first team to record 10,000 losses and have the fourth-worst winning % of any active franchise (.472) Additionally, they were the final pre-1900 squad to accumulate 10,000 victories.
The Phillies, who have entered the playoffs just 14 times in their 140-year existence and haven’t in the past ten years, have the fewest playoff appearances or World Series championships of any of the other nine teams on this list. Ryan Howard clenched his Achilles tendon at the first-base line as their 2011 postseason run came to an end. The Phillies have only won two World Series championships, the first one being in 1980 and the second in 2008.
