Philadelphia Phillies’ hard-work and their dedication towards reaching post-season has finally paid off. The city of brotherly love made it to Major League Baseball’s postseason after 11 long years. The team has collectively voted on the opinion that they are indeed just getting started as much more is left to do in October.

Philadelphia Phillies beat the Houston Astros 3-0 Monday night to clinch its first playoff berth since 2011. Aaron Nola took a perfect game into the 7th inning, and Schwarber homered to propel the team to victory.

Philly’s Star Bryce Harper expressed, “I think when we started out when I signed here in ‘19, I think I said it was going to take us a couple years, we’re not where we need to be right now, of course.

“This is Step 1 to hopefully greater success and a greater opportunity to get where we need to be. But we’re going to enjoy this, we’re going to have fun. There’s nothing like popping bottles in October, and I’m excited to be part of this.”

The players opened celebratory champagne as the franchise has been waiting to put on those ‘October Rise’ T-shirts. “It’s been a long time in the making,” Aaron Nola said. On the other hand, his teammate Zach Eflin said, “This is exactly what you dream of, this is what you want. But we’re just getting started. We want to do this four more times.”

The video board at Minute Maid Park displayed the team’s logo and the words “Congratulations Philadelphia” as the Philadelphia Phillies celebrated in a huddle.

“Honest to God, I thought Nola was going to throw a perfect game, I really did,” Thomson said as he was highly impressed by the performance put out by Aaron Nola. “And when I went out to take him out, I thought he was going to chew my head off. He just had that look in his eye. But all night, he had that look in his eye like, ‘I’m going to get this thing done.’”
