The new season of the MLB has seen an increase in stolen bases. This is thanks to the fact that the body implemented new rules this year. The size of the bases was increased from its original size. This has enabled speedy runners to catch their opposition off-guard and steal a base to get into run-scoring positions. Atlanta Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr is one of those players. The runner almost got injured while trying to steal a base on Tuesday.

This comes just a day after he exited the game with a shoulder injury after being hit by a pitch. This incident occurred when the Braves took on the NY Mets in a heated matchup. The rivalry between the two has developed in recent years as they go head-to-head for the top spot in the National League East standing.

In the sixth inning against the Miami Marlins, he stole another base. While doing so this time, he had to somersault to stay in touch with the bag. Whether it was heroic or reckless is up for debate. The fans, however, are now confused on whether he was injured while facing the Mets on Monday night.

The 25-year-old is one of the brightest players in MLB right now. In the game against the Mets, Ronald Acuna Jr also slammed a home run. In 2019, he led the National League in stolen bases criteria with 37. With 14 already to his name this season, he will likely cross that mark by a mile given that he stays fit without getting injured.

At the moment I thought it was something more serious because I couldn’t move my arm. But thankfully everything is OK,” he said through a translator regarding his injury concern. Braves fans would certainly love to see more of this from him minus the dangerous stunts.

Before this incident, he became the game with a double. Stealing bases is not the only thing he is good at this season. He is currently batting an impressive average of .362. He also has five home runs and sixteen RBIs attached to his name this season. This strong presence has made him a significant candidate or an early candidate for the MVP award this year.
