Trevor Bauer is a 2018 All-Star and the 2020 National League Cy Young Awardee. He signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers after the 2020 season but was soon side-lined due to his sexual assault charges.

The Major League Baseball authorities vocalized over the matter once the were done with the investigation. They suspended Trevor Bauer for 324 games but reduced the rate to 194 games upon appeal. A Californian woman filed a case against Bauer for assaulting her during s*x. As a consequence of her bravery two women from Ohio too raised their voice.

Trevor will lose the salary for first 50 games in the 2023 season after the arbitrator decided to reinstall him in the MLB effective immediately. The women filed a long-term restraining order against the Dodger’s player. Although he has still not faced any criminal charges with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have also issued a statement regarding Trevor Bauer. The said that they have recently been informed about the arbitrator’s decision and would comment on the player as soon as they seem practical.

MLB issued a statement with respect to ARBITRATOR’s decision in the Trevor Bauer case

The statement issued by MLB read, “Today, the neutral arbitrator selected by MLB and the MLBPA affirmed that Trevor Bauer violated Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy,” They further explained that the neutral arbitrator has upheld the decision of an unpaid suspension for 194 games.

The notified that the Arbitrator has reinstalled Trevor Bauer effective immediately, “With a loss of pay covering the 144 games he was suspended during the 2022 season. In addition, the arbitrator docked Bauer’s salary for the first 50 games of the 2023 season. The period covering March 30, 2023 to May 23, 2023.”

MLB has acknowledged that the punishment for the crime was warranted to be longer but they would abide by the decision taken. The neutral arbitrator upheld the longest-ever active player suspension for sexual assault or domestic violence in baseball history.
