“Steroids. Cheater!” – MLB Twitter criticizes Fernando Tatis Jr. after videos of him celebrating his birthday do rounds on social media

On August 2022, San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. was issued an 80-match suspension by MLB because of using Performance-Enhancing Drugs (PED). The use of PEDs has been a significant issue for the MLB (Major League Baseball) to tackle. This has resulted in the disqualification of several records scored by baseball veterans in the past.

On January 2, Tatis celebrated his 24th birthday quite lavishly. He was seen cutting a birthday cake with his friends, who smashed some of it on his face. The San Diego Padres man was seen partying hard and enjoying himself on the occasion.

Fernando Tatis Jr., born on January 2, 1999, celebrated his 24th birthday in style with his friends. A video of him in celebration has been doing rounds on social media. Tatis can be seen lavishly celebrating with his friends while they smash cake on his face. He seems to be having a gala time at the party.

In August 2022, when Tatis Jr. was caught using PEDs, his career took a massive hit. Along with an 80-match suspension, his endorsement deal with Adidas was also immediately suspended.

However, MLB Twitter has mixed reactions about Tatis celebrating his birthday bash. It seems, many fans are upset over his use of PEDs for games and go on to call him a ‘cheat.’

However, he did receive some love from some of the Padres fans, who still believe he has the potential to come back stronger to the league.

The use of drugs in MLB has been one of the most taboo issues of all time. One of the famous instances of using PEDs could be traced back to when Mark McGwire scored his 70th home run record. The 1998 season was one of the best ones for McGwire, and his home run ball now continues to be the highest recorded bid for a baseball.

Initially, McGwire never admitted to using drugs during games. However, he later admitted that he did use steroids.

When Barry Bonds surpassed McGwire’s record in the 2001 season, his record was not counted because of his alleged connection with using PEDs.

While Tatis Jr.’s future certainly looks dim after this controversy, he sure did have some fun time away from this stress on his birthday!
