He will take part in this Spring Training game as a designated hitter. Following his elbow surgery, Ohtani was ruled out to play as a pitcher for the 2024 season. As a result of this, his first year in Dodger Blue will see him play as a batter only.

On Sunday, Ohtani would face right handed pitcher Jesse Hahn during the BP. In this training session, he would take a couple of swings which impressed his coach Dave Roberts.

He took three at-bats, and he looked good. I thought today was a good day for Shohei.

Meanwhile, the three-time All-Star himself claimed he thinks he is right on schedule (to make a return) and expressed his confidence in his health.

The Spring Training for the Dodgers has been going well. In their first game against the San Diego Padres, they put up 14 runs and won the game 14-1. This was followed by another 4-1 win against the Padres, a 7-7 tie with the Los Angeles Angels and a 4-2 victory against the Oakland Athletics.

With Ohtani now in the team for the game against the White Sox, many are expecting another victory for the NL West team. However, the White Sox will be hoping to spoil the party and ruin his debut with a win on Tuesday.
