Puig was accounted to the court on two bases, one for participating in an illegal gambling business and the other for filing a false tax return. On Wednesday he noted that wants to wash off his name which was made after an interview in January via a Zoom call.

Officials who were digging into Wayne Nix’s business scandal took up his name on the paper. Though initially, he agreed to the crime, he later posted, “I never should have agreed to plead guilty to a crime I did not commit”. Needless to say, new reports have come up in favor of his plea.

This “significant” new evidence pointed out by Puig’s attorney Keri Axel states, “At the time of his January 2022 interview, Mr. Puig, who has a third-grade education, had untreated mental-health issues, and did not have his own interpreter or criminal legal counsel with him”.

“We have reviewed the evidence, including significant new information, and have serious concerns about the allegations made against Yasiel.” Even Yasiel Puig’s agent Lisette Carnet said that he also wasn’t prepared for the interview, saying he was “feeling rushed, unprepared, without criminal counsel with him, and also lacked his own interpreter.”

In Puig’s previous agreement it was stated that the 31-year-old wracked up $280,000 in losses if not any less. He bet on different sports like tennis, football, and basketball with the help of a third party who was working for the former minor league player, Wayne Nix.

Nix pleaded guilty in August after he got caught in an illegal gambling business. It was shocking to learn that his client included both former and reigning players. Puig tweeted on Wednesday, “All my life’s I been told to be quiet and do what I was told”. “No mores”. ”I want to clear my name,’. “I never should have agreed to plead guilty to a crime I did not commit.”
