AJ McKee vs Alexander Volkanovski
The featherweight division of the Bellator is ruled by the newly crowned king AJ McKee, he won the belt after defeating Patricio Pitbull at Bellator 263, and he has been calling out top featherweights from all major promotions ever since.
He wanted to face the former featherweight champion Max Holloway, and now he has his eyes set on the current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. He has called him out on several occasions, and now also offered him $1 Million for the same.
Talking to The Schmo in an interview, he said, “Come down to Body Shop. We all know I just made a million. All you UFC fighters, PFL, wherever you at. If you feel you are the best 145-pounder in the world, I got a million dollars cash money. Come test it.” Volkanovski is all set to defend his title against The Korean Zombie at the main event of UFC 273, and he had a little time to talk about McKee. He said Mckee is a great champ, but UFC fighters are on a different level.

McKee isn’t prepared to let Volkanovski off the hook, and called him out in his recent interview with MMA Junkie, he said, “Actually I quoted something with him and Dana. I asked him specifically. I said, ‘Hey, how come when Patricio was champion you responded to him? Now I’m barking up your name, and you won’t respond to me. No disrespect to small people, but it’s like battle of the midgets, you know what I mean? F*cking what’s up? You don’t want to respond to this big boy? What’s going on? I want this smoke. … In due time, his time is coming. It will come.”

He also offered his take on the UFC 273 headliner, he said, “Zombie’s hands are all right. They’re pretty good. They’re decent. But I honestly feel like Volkanovski has the advantage a little bit there. He’s more of a power puncher, a little more methodical on his feet – until you step in front of me. Then it’s a different story. He’s got long arms. I don’t think people realize that. Even though he’s a small dude, he’s got long arms, so it’s being cognitive to things like that.”
