Doumbé is known for his explosive punching power and his aggressive fighting style. He is also a skilled grappler and has finished several of his opponents by submission. Cedric Doumbe’s fight record is also one of the impressive attributes of the Frenchman.

Doumbé was born in Douala, Cameroon, and his family emigrated to France when he was nine years old. However, his father passed away in a vehicle accident soon after Doumbe was born. This left his mother widowed to raise him and his sister. He began training in kickboxing in his late teens. Doumbe majored in psychology but left university early to focus on a kickboxing career.

He rose to fame when he defeated Nieky Holzken to win the Glory Welterweight Championship. Doumbe defended his title twice before losing it against former opponent Murthel Groenhart. He followed fellow Cameroonian Francis Ngannou to the PFL. As such, he recently made his debut in the PFL which has shocked many of his doubters and fans. Despite being a kickboxer, Doumbe has five fights in his MMA career and has won all of them by knockout. He has competed in multiple competitions including
SuperKombat Universe, The MMA Grand Prix, and the PFL. After a few cancellations, he recently made his PFL debut and defeated his opponent Jordan Zebo in a matter of nine seconds.

Cedric Doumbe began his professional kickboxing career in 2015. The French fighter participated in the A1 World Grand Prix in the 75 kg division. He won via knockout in the semifinals against Djibril Ehouo. In the finals, he took on Vedat Hoduk and won after an extra round.

In 2017 he was back at the same tournament. This time around he had the pressure of being the defending champion. Yet, he did not let this get to him, as he blazed a path to the finals after defeating Ben Hodge in the semis via a unanimous decision. In the finals, he faced his old foe, Djibril Ehouo and once again knocked him out. He would win the A1 WGP one more time by defeating Vedat Hoduk via a 3-round KO.

The Frenchman also fought in Glory Fighting. Unfortunately, he lost his first fight against Yoann Kongolo. He turned things around in his second fight when he defeated Murthel Groenhart via unanimous decision. The Frenchman would then make history after becoming the 1st French Champion in Glory after defeating Nieky Holzken via a split decision to bag the Glory Welterweight title. He mounted his first defense against Kongolo in 2017. The French Welterweight Champion would go on to defend his title one more time before losing the title to Murthel Groenhart.

The French fighter reclaimed the title again by defeating Harut Grigorian. In his second reign, he defended his title twice before announcing his retirement from kickboxing and switching to MMA.

  • Doumbe fought in Glory Kickboxing for the first time in 2015 and lost to Yoann Kongolo in a unanimous decision. However, it took him only one more win to earn himself a shot at the welterweight title. He defeated Neiky Holzken via a split decision to win the championship. He then avenged his loss to Kongolo in his first title defense.
  • He lost his title to former opponent Murthel Groenhart in 2017 after which he went 4-1 in his next five fights. This impressive run earned him another shot at the title. Doumbe defended his title three times before ultimately announcing his retirement from kickboxing in 2021.
  • Doumbe made his move to MMA in 2021 and signed for the SuperKombat championship where he had two successful fights. However, he was set to make his highly anticipated debut in the UFC in 2022. His fight was unfortunately canceled due to problems with the French MMA Federation. He was released from the UFC shortly after.
  • Doumbe then entered the MMA Grand Prix and defeated both his opponents via knockout to set his eyes on the PFL. He was announced as a PFL fighter in 2023 and was set to make his debut against Jarrah Al-Sawi. However, the fight had to be canceled as Doumbe had faced an injury. He defeated Jordan Zebo in a record-breaking nine seconds.
