Demetrious Johnson reveals shocking info! UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo knew he had to fight the preceding champion, Bradon Moreno, for the fourth time in order to shut the doubters up once and for all and give fans another legendary fight of their massive rivalry. However, Figueiredo has changed his preference for his upcoming fight and this is due to reasons that are extremely serious not just for Figueiredo himself but for any athlete fighting at the highest of levels.
Moreno’s teammate was using some random filters online during an Instagram live, and they put on a monkey filter on Figueiredo. The champ was pissed off by this alleged racist gesture, and he took to Instagram to express his concern. He apologized to Dana White and asked for a fight against Kai Kara France instead.
Kai is ready to accept this fight, and Moreno said the whole incident was a mistake, and Figgy is making up an excuse to avoid the hard fight. Former flyweight champion, and alleged G.O.A.T, Demetrious Johnson had something to say about the matter. Talking to Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, he said, “Yes, it makes a lot of money sense for the UFC, and maybe the athletes, too. But I know how the UFC contracts are structured so whether Brandon Moreno fights Figueiredo or fights Kai Kara-France”
Demetrious Johnson lays out a perfect plan for Brandon Moreno
Demetrious Johnson revealed the UFC doesn’t give out PPV points to the flyweights, he said, “Those boys ain’t getting pay-per-view points. They never gave Flyweights pay-per-view points. Don’t act like y’all getting 800,000 pay-per-view buys.” He also laid out a perfect plan for Moreno, one that would land him in a much better position in his career.
“You’re better off fighting Kai Kara-France or Pantoja,” Demetrious Johnson continued. “Then if you get that, boom, you get your show and your win so you probably make $250K. Okay then you might be on an escalator so you fight another one, there’s another $250K so you make $500K. Now you fight for a world title, get your $30K Reebok sponsorship.”
“At the end, you’ll be like, ‘Hey, I got two fights on my contract. You know what, I don’t want to re-sign, I want to fight this one out.’ Then let’s say you win the belt, next thing you know, you’re in a great position. So it’s better to fight just to fight to make your money then go for it.”’
