Israel Adesanya once again proves to the world why he is the middleweight king. Another attempt from Robert Whittaker to stop Izzy fails as The Last Stylebender defends his belt at UFC 271.
UFC 271 witnessed greatness in the main event fight. Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker had the entire arena on their edge of the seats as both the middleweight kings fight out an intense five-round battle at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Whittaker gave his all to dethrone Adesanya but in the end, Israel won the fight via unanimous decision after he outclassed the Aussie.
Adesanya is one of the biggest stars in the world and it is no surprise that all the big names in the fighting world tuned in to watch The Last Stylebender put on a show. When a superstar like Adesanya is in the octgaon doing what he does best, it is no surprise the world’s biggest star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tunes in to support the Stylebender. Rock was stunned with Izzy’s fitness in between rounds of intense fighting.
“Damn!! Incredible to see Izzy only breathing thru his nose midway thru 4th. Not even sitting down between rounds. Discipline. Control.
Both these guys” wrote The Rock on Twitter.
Khabib Nurmagomedov, arguably the greatest lightweight fighter spoke his mind ahead of the fight. The Dagestani wanted Robert to win the fight but couldn’t help but vision Izzy losing his belt. “My heart with Robert but my mind with Adesanya,” wrote Nurmagomedov.
Izzy’s close friend and a fellow Nigerian champion, Kamaru Usman also put out a tweet ahead of the huge rematch. “The two best at middleweight by far and we get to enjoy the contest,” wrote Michael Chandler, the lightweight title contender.
While the entire middleweight division finds it difficult to beat Adesanya, the rising superstar Khamzat Chimaev believes it won’t take him too much to defeat the middleweight champion
