“Goats recognise goat”- Henry Cejudo responds to Claressa Shields’ desire to work on her wrestling with him

Henry Cejudo seems all up for taking Claressa Shields under his tutelage as he recently responded to ‘ESPN MMA’s post saying that multi-division boxing champion wants to train and learn wrestling from him.
Claressa Shields is considered one of boxing’s all-time greats as she was able to become a multi-division champion in the least number of fights. As an amateur, she racked up a record of over 70 wins with one loss and as a professional, she hasn’t lost a single fight with an 11-0 record.
She made her professional MMA debut in June of last year after she signed a three-year contract with PFL beating Brittney Elkin via third-round TKO and then was beaten in just her second MMA bout by Abigail Montes via split decision.
She recently spoke about how she’s good whole standing, but the fight on the mat is where she is weakest so she would love to work with ‘Triple C’ in order to overcome this obstacle.
Cejudo reacted to ESPN MMA‘s post on Twitter saying, “Goats recognise goat. Maaahhhhhh” to which Shields tweeted, “Let’s go! I’m ready to learn!”
If Cejudo does decide to train Shields, then it surely will be beneficial to the boxer as she has just started out with her MMA career which could make her a force to reckon with.
Claressa Shields talks about requiring Henry Cejudo’s training
Claressa Shields looks set to have her next fight in boxing as she is required to defend her title and it’s highly likely that she will be facing Savannah Marshall, the only person in her entire boxing career that she lost to in her next bout.
However, Shields has shown her will to continue with her MMA career and even said she would love former two-division champion Henry Cejudo to train her.
“I want Henry Cejudo to show me how to risk. That’s what I want. Like I feel like I’m missing, that’s the biggest part I’m missing right now. Like I feel like, of course, boxing is on point, I could tell good kicks and check kicks and recognize them when they are coming. It’s just with the rest, the level change they go from here for a fight and then they go for the leg and then you gotta be able to recognize that, go for the crawl and then the takedown. So, I really wanna work with Cejudo“, said Shields.
Cejudo replied favorably commenting, “I’m flattered”.
With that said, Shields will benefit greatly from Cejudo as he has been a very dominant fighter and has also been helping out Jon Jones for his upcoming UFC heavyweight debut.
