“I was super impressed”- John Kavanagh recalls Will Smith’s amazing MMA skills, as some suggest a fight between him and Chris Rock
John Kavanagh and Will Smith
Will Smith won the award for the best actor at the 94th Academy Awards. It was a great night for the actor, as his role in the movie ‘King Richard’ received the appreciation it deserved, but that wasn’t the only thing he’ll be known for, for the rest of his life. Smith slapped Chris Rock who made a joke about his wife.
Rock was hosting the event, and he was making jokes about everyone in the audience. He then targeted Jada Pinkett Smith (Will’s wife) who is suffering from Alopecia Areata. In alopecia areata, the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, causing inflammation. Researchers do not fully understand what causes the immune attack on hair follicles, but they believe that both genetic and environmental (non-genetic) factors play a role. (H/T NDTV.com)
Rock joked about this, and said, “Javier Bardem and his wife are both nominated. Now, if she loses, he can’t win. He is praying that Will Smith wins, like, please, lord. Jada, I love you. ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it, all right?” Smith then walked up to the stage and slapped Chris right across his face. He then yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fuck**ng mouth.”
“That was a weird situation that popped up”- Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh reveals an interesting story regarding training Will Smith
Everyone was surprised by Will’s action, but many from the MMA community found the incident quite amusing. While all this happened, some suggested an MMA match between these two. Considering this match happens, we take a look at Conor McGregor’s coach’s comment about Smith’s MMA skills.
He had a chance to train him during Conor’s training camp in Dubai, he said, “That was a weird situation that popped up. I was in Dubai training with Conor and his people were on to my people, as they say. Would I be interested in doing a session with Will Smith? Absolutely I would. I’m a massive fan, I couldn’t believe it.”
He added, “I got to go out to an incredible sport complex out there. I’ve got a warrior programme and I put him through a typical session. I was super impressed with him. I really try to get them in the mindset of a fighter. While I was doing that, Will was hunched over, very focused, staring into space.”
