He added, “He’s a hardworking athlete who puts his blood and sweat into the game, like a whole bunch of them do. He had defeated an Afghani fighter and was cheering another friend of his who was also fighting an Afghani in the ring. Abdul Azim Badakshi didn’t like what was going on and he attacked Srikant from behind.”

“Srikant was caught unaware. I wasn’t there but there were videos out there to this effect. Abdul got a mob of Afghan supporters to attack Srikant. His jaw is broken, he has five plates fitted inside. This incident has put his livelihood, his career and his chance to return to the ring off track,” Pravin concluded.
