Andrew Tate has once again sparked a debate in the online community with his controversial words. Recently, a video clip featuring him has quickly gained traction on the internet, triggering reactions across the spectrum. In the clip, Tate openly recounts his sexual relationship with a 16-year-old individual. This, of course, is a recount of his earlier days and not a recent occurrence.

During one of their many online broadcasts, Tate discussed the term “April Baker”. He revealed how he and his brother use that term for any woman catfishing on the internet. The term usually refers to the dishonest practice where someone fabricates a false identity or fictitious character on social media.

In his own words, Tate says, “I messaged her, and she said, ‘But I’m only 19.’ I replied, ‘I don’t care.’ You know me—I’m 21, age doesn’t bother me. So I drove my Mazda RX8 to pick up April Baker, the original catfish before catfishing became a thing.” The video was posted on Twitter with a caption explicitly accusing Andrew Tate. The response was a whole of reactions from both his die-hard supporters and his sworn critics. The age of consent is 16 in the UK, where Tate and “April Baker” belong. But many say the incident, even though legal, is sickening.

Nevertheless, it is these polarizing stories and triggering viewpoints that have helped him reach the heights of social media presence. Andrew Tate is originally from the United States, but later relocated to the United Kingdom after his parents separated. He is a former kickboxing world champion, and his strong online presence has caused some of the biggest headlines this year.

The Tate brothers are currently being charged in Romanian court. They are being charged with r*pe, human trafficking, and forming an organized crime group to sexually exploit women. Additionally charged are his brother Tristan and two other accomplices.
