However, such moves have extremely low accuracy. Nonetheless, when they hit, they make for a spectacular finish. A video of one such incident went viral recently. It was a cartwheel kick knockout. However, the kick did not hit the intended target, as it hit the referee.

The incident happened at the 2022 MMA Super Cup in Bahrain. It happened in the semifinals of the bout between Mexico and the Republic of Ireland. It was Mexico’s Luis Enrique Gonzalez Martinez who landed the cartwheel kick on the referee Scott Manhart. The incident happened at the end of the second round of his lightweight bout with Lewis Byrne. After the kick hit him, Manhart lay on the canvas for some time before he gained his wits back. Nonetheless, Byrne went on to win the fight via unanimous decision. Unfortunately, team Ireland went on to lose to Bahrain in the finals.
