Cornermen and Corner advise have an essential role to play in MMA. Sometimes, they can make or break a fight’s outcome. They have their ups and downs. However, when they are on point, they deliver big-time results. The most crucial corner advice in recent times came from MMA coach Erik Nicksick. His speech between the rounds motivated Sean Strickland to outclass Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. Similarly, another coach in the regional scene helped his fighter achieve victory.
A video uploaded on an Instagram page, Home of Fight, showcased the corner advice that led to a knockout. The coach yelled, “He’s going to kick. Catch his leg. Let him kick, counter with right-cross, any right-cross move.” As it turns out, the opponent went for a kick that got countered with right-cross, leading to the knockout finish. Corner advice will generate some impact, whether it’s the UFC or the regional scene.
Tim Welch, the coach of Sean O’Malley, once gave similar advice that led to his win over Petr Yan at UFC 280. George St-Pierre had a similar incident at UFC 217. GSP faced Michael Bisping for the middleweight title. GSP’s boxing coach asked him to counter Bisping’s combination with a left-handed punch. St-Pierre was able to drop Bisping in the third round and submitted him via rear-naked choke.
Corners also have flaws, but we focus on the good aspect this time. Cornermen have a tough task of motivating fighters when they are in a slump. Sometimes, they have the tough task of the decision to throw in the towel when their fighters take plenty of damage. Nevertheless, these are parts and parcels of the sport.
Fans react to the excellent MMA corner advise
The fans were in awe of the corner advice. One fan commented, “Read him like a book. Amazing.” However, others wondered if the opponent couldn’t understand what corner said. The advice was brilliant, and it led to the win.
Irish rising star Ian Garry also commented with fire emojis. Garry is active on social media and appreciates instances on a regular basis. He will fight Vicente Luque at UFC 296 in Las Vegas.
Any fan of the sport would appreciate advice like this. Pretty much all the fans appreciated the coach for giving one of the best corners advice in MMA.
