Andrew Tate is one of the most popular, yet polarizing figures on the internet right now. Despite being banned from all major social media channels, his voice continues to be heard in popular discourse.

A mind boggling 6.3 million people watched the intense debate between Tate and British news figure Piers Morgan, last month. The two of them tangled on diverging points of discussion – however, one theme was clear from the get-go; that is, Andrew Tate is not one to back down.

Now, a month later, the two have sat down yet again; the only difference being that while Morgan continues to be in the studio, Tate called into the interview. The primary topic of discussion this time around was free speech, and the movement at the helm of one of the biggest social media platforms – Twitter. For those who didn’t know, the giant conglomerate was acquired by Elon Musk a couple of weeks back, costing him a net $44 billion.

When asked about the change, Andrew Tate said, “I don’t think it matters if it includes me or not [being a series of people to be reinstated amidst free speech policy upheaval], I think whats important is that free speech is absolutely the number one weapon against absolute tyranny. I do like the idea of the changing of the guard when it comes to control over the information.

Despite agreeing on ideas of free speech, Piers Morgan makes it a point to disagree with Andrew Tate on Covid-19

To his statement about ‘The changing of the guard’, Piers Morgan could only agree in unanimity. Morgan has been attacked time and again for being loud-mouthed in dealing with issues from politics to sports, and accordingly, has on many occasions, been taunted for his allegedly extreme views. Hence, it made sense that both of them would agree to a lower threshold over what is allowed to be put out on the internet by individuals acting on their own accord.

One thing they didn’t agree about, however, which Morgan made crystal clear to Tate; was about the latter classifying Covid-19 as the ‘common cold’. However, despite the clash, they found common ground on a censorship issue that reared its head last year.

Spearheaded by voices like Joe Rogan, who has giant traction on the internet, there was a spike in the amount of misinformation regarding Covid-19 and its implications being disseminated on Twitter. The duo agreed on this, despite the discussion itself proceeding on shaky grounds.

Andrew Tate might have been banned from social media, but, his voice is still being amplified by his legions of fans online – with eminent figures like Piers Morgan giving him a chance to regain traction under the spotlight, this phenomenon is just bound to grow.
