The MMA community mourned the death of a young female fighter after she died in a car accident. Shalie Lipp was 21 years old and had a fight coming up on 20th May. The tragedy happened in Minnesota on Sunday morning, which even melted the heart of UFC President Dana White. Shalie dreamed of competing in the UFC.

Shalie Lipp was one of the two passengers in the 2015 Chevy Malibu. At the Red River Bridge, Lipp’s car collided with a Jeep Cherokee with three passengers inside. The tragic accident occurred at around 11.30 am. When Dana White learned about her untimely death, he posted about her on his Instagram account with the caption, “I KNOW YOUR NAME… RIP.“

White also wrote, “She is a 21-year-old amateur MMA fighter who just passed away in a car accident. She was supposed to fight on May 20th and just got home from training in Thailand. Her mother found her journal, and I guess at the end of every entry she would write, “Dana White will know my name.” Lauren Murphy called and told Mick Maynard the story, and it broke my heart. My condolences to her family and friends.” Along with White, Conor McGregor, Laura Sanko, Frankie Edgar, and other MMA stars also mourned the death of upcoming talent.

Law Enforcement officials suggest that Lipp did not buckle her seat belt during the drive. They also stated that she was in the passenger’s seat. According to the reports, passengers in the other vehicle are not in critical condition. As of now, the investigation is still under process to complete the protocol.

UFC fighter Lauren Murphy told UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard about the incident. Maynard was the one who told Dana White about the story of Shalie Lipp and her dream to fight in the UFC. Later, the UFC president decided to make a wholesome post that revealed the story of a deceased fighter.

Many UFC stars commented on Dana White’s Instagram post. Fighters like Conor McGregor, Frankie Edgar, Belal Muhammad, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Michael Bisping, Anthony Pettis, and Laura Sanko commented on the post.

Her words, “Dana White will know my name,” showcased her dedication and dream to fight in MMA’s top promotion. The amateur fighter competed in the flyweight division. She was preparing for the flyweight title fight against Natalie Gauge at Ignite No Mercy 11 on May 20th. The MMA community sent their condolences to Shipp’s family and friends.
