Rivals Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz will clash heads in a boxing match this June. While there was animosity between the two former UFC fighters, they were well past their prime. As such, Dillon Danis, known for his polarizing figure, criticized the match to the teeth.
Dillon Danis recently visited New York for the premiere of Road House to support Conor McGregor. With media coverage, Danis certainly attracted a few questions. As such, he reacted to the news of Jorge Masvidal vs. Nate Diaz. He trashed the matchup and compared it to Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Here is what he said:
It's embarrassing. They both suck so, you know, I don't know. They're both so unathletic and s*****. I think Nate is kind of out of it, he's CTE brain dead. I think it's bulls***. It's a money grab just like the [Mike] Tyson and Jake Paul s*** but it is what it is. They should be fighting MMA. Why are they fighting in boxing, you know? Because UFC doesn't want to put it on.Dillon Danis via JoseYoungs
Also, Dillon Danis backed Jorge Masvidal to win the fight on the basis of having an athletic advantage over Nate Diaz. Moreover, he questioned why they had to fight in boxing and not in MMA. It was a fair point, given their history in MMA. However, he used it to insult the UFC veterans once again. Moreover, calling their matchup a ‘money grab’ when he fought Logan Paul for a lucrative deal didn’t sit well among the fans.
Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz last fought in 2019 for the inaugural BMF title. The bout ended in a controversial manner as the doctor intervened to stop Diaz from continuing. Ever since the fighters have held a competitive grudge against each other. As such, this boxing match is marketed with ‘Gamebred’ constantly teasing Diaz. However, Dillon Danis wasn’t interested despite the history.
Dillon Danis reveals details about his next fight
At the New York Premiere of Road House, Dillon Danis joined Conor McGregor. The two have shared a longtime relationship, and ‘El Jefe’ even helped the Irishman as his BJJ instructor. As such, at the Lincoln Center, Danis addressed the media and revealed about his MMA return.
