Now, fighters like Charles Oliveira and Brian Ortega have used their BJJ skills to be at the top of their division. Even Hollywood movie star Keanu Reeves studied BJJ for the renowned John Wick film franchise.

In the John Wick films, Reeves played the titular character, an expert hitman. A blend of shooting guns and BJJ dominated the action sequences throughout the movie. Recently, A video went viral on social media as a BJJ training school used John Wick-like training. In the video, a gun is at first thrown to the mat. After that, two BJJ grapplers attempt to take control of the gun, all the while using BJJ maneuvers.

A shirtless man and a man who wore a black shirt contested in the video. The shirtless man was the first to get hold of the gun. However, the other man used BJJ maneuvers to get the gun for himself as he went into half-guard and triangle choke attempts. Nevertheless, he was unsuccessful as the shirtless man moved the gun to the other hand and ultimately got up. Nonetheless, the contest ended as the shirtless man put the other man at gunpoint at near point-blank range.

There is no possible explanation why such a different training took place except for inspiration from John Wick. The movie popularized the action movie genre with the adept use of different martial arts techniques, primarily that of BJJ.
