Ortiz announces a rematch against Sonnen, presumably without the latter's knowledge
Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen’s first fight at Bellator 170 was most remembered not for what occurred inside the cage but for what preceded it. To be more precise, it was the brutal trash talk served by Sonnen that ended up being a historical moment in MMA.
Now, nearly 6 years after the fact, the former Mayor Pro Tem of Huntington Beach has announced that he will be having his rematch against Sonnen early next year. This announcement was made solely by Ortiz with Sonnen neither confirming or denying.
Ortiz said that the two would fight at the February stop for Freedom Fight Night, an MMA promotion that also acts as a fundraiser for the allies of former President Donald Trump. Ortiz also announced that it would be his final fight, something he has promised ever since his last fight against Sonnen in 2017.

While Ortiz may have forgotten what happened the last time, the fans were kind enough to jog his memory. Though he won the fight against Sonnen, it is hardly remembered and is vastly overshadowed by Sonnen constantly taunting Ortiz by making crass comments about his then-live-in girlfriend, Jenna Jameson, an adult film star.
