Former UFC fighter Antonio Silva continues to face defeats late in his career as he suffered another brutal knockout recently. Antonio accomplished a lot in his pro career and was once a UFC title challenger. He was also the only EliteXC Heavyweight Champion in the promotion’s brief history. After an amazing career, Antonio can’t get back into his form and his career is going downhill as he lost 9 out of his last 10 fights.
Antonio is currently 42 years old and was at one point scheduled to headline an event of Eagle FC, but he could not compete as stateside commissions were reluctant to grant him the fight license considering his age and previous fights. Silva recently fought against Oleg Popov in Moscow, Russia on Saturday and suffered another defeat.
Antonio was once among the most feared fighters in the UFC, but he now faced his seventh loss in a row against Oleg, who has a professional record of 15-1. The fight was scheduled at MMA Series 53 in Moscow, Russia. Silva was knocked out in the second round after Oleg landed a hard punch to his chin in the opening seconds of the second round.

Despite his recent misfortune, Antonio Silva was once one of the top heavyweight fighters in MMA. Antonio started his professional MMA career in 2005 and competed in top fighting promotions like UFC, Cage Warriors, and Strikeforce. Antonio is part of the American Top Team, which is one of the primary teams in MMA.
Antonio Silva made his professional MMA debut in 2005 against Tengiz Tedoradze and won the fight in just 46 seconds. Antonio started competing in Cage Warriors and became the Cage Warriors Super Heavyweight Champion. He held several titles, including Cage Rage World Heavyweight title and EliteXC Heavyweight title.
Antonio Silva made his UFC debut in 2012 against Cain Velasquez at UFC 146 but lost the fight in the first round via TKO. Silva fought top fighters like Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt and has a professional record of 19 wins and 14 losses. Silva was released from UFC after his loss against Roy Nelson and has not won a fight after that.
