Khabib Nurmagomedov is known across the globe as a spearhead for the world of MMA.
Ever since he beat Conor McGregor in 2018, he has skyrocketed to global fame and even has a dedicated fanbase of his own. In strict contrast to McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov brought a sense of valor and respect to the conduct associated with the sport.
Despite retiring, Khabib keeps appearing in media events and conversing with experts and fans. He also has formed his own MMA promotion, called EAGLE FC.
Now, given Khabib’s name value in the Middle East, Central Asia and Russia; Etihad Airways has released a new video of him and Clarence Seedorf, the ex-AC Milan legend. The advertisement has been made to promote the football World Cup that will take place in Qatar this year.
The theme of the advertisement is relatively light, as Seedorf and Khabib can be seen getting confused by other people’s descriptions of “someone’’ being “super-powerful” and “intelligent”. Khabib Nurmagomedov was known for his agility on the ground, so it only makes sense that the Russian would assume it is he who is being referenced.
The mysterious entity then turns out to be an eagle. The specificity of the animal must have something to do with the promotional aspect of the tournament. Us fight fans, however, can suffice knowing that it could be a nod to Khabib’s nickname, which is “The Eagle”.

Promotional aspect apart, a facet that the elite grappler perpetually finds himself involved in, is MMA GOAT talk.
There are some fighters that will always make the list of the top 5 greatest fighters to ever compete, and from them, any pick could have its merits. To name them, without stepping on any toes – Jon Jones, Georges St. Pierre, Fedor Emelianenko, Anderson Silva, Khabib, amongst others.
Tyron Woodley, ex-welterweight champion of the UFC, has also had his say on the matter. He spoke with TMZ recently, saying, ” (Him) on my top 10 list? Probably not. I f*ck with Khabib. I like him, I respect him a lot. I think he’s a good fighter. I think his type of fight for that weight class, nobody could do that besides Sean Sherk back in the day, but like, he was just really aggressive, but I didn’t see the wrestler with good hands fight him so I couldn’t really jump on that train.”

Coming to the crux of the question, he delineated Anderson Silva as his “GOAT”.
Although we might never be able to see Khabib re-enter the octagon to settle the debate, we can surely tune in to see another Dagestani prodigy in Islam Makhachev scrap against Charles Oliveira, come October 22nd.
