Kyoji Horiguchi competes at RIZIN, one of the top MMA promotions in Japan. He recently fought for the inaugural flyweight title at RIZIN against Makoto Shinryu on New Year’s Eve. As such, he won the fight in the second round via submission to become the first flyweight champion of RIZIN. But his title win was overshadowed by what followed. He went on one knee to propose to his girlfriend in front of thousands.

After the gold belt was wrapped around his waist, Kyonji Horiguchi proposed to his girlfriend in style. He acknowledged her support throughout his life and asked her to marry him on the microphone. As such, his girlfriend got emotional and held back her tears of joy. Soon, she accepted his request and made it affirmative on the thousands present at the arena. Later, The couple shared a moment with Horiguchi presenting a proposal ring to her.

Kyoji Horiguchi had previously won bantamweight titles at Bellator, RIZIN, and Shooto. He even competed for the UFC flyweight title during his tenure in the UFC. As such, his only loss in the UFC was to Demetrious Johnson, preventing him from becoming a UFC champion.

Currently, Kyoji Horiguchi has an impressive MMA record of 32 wins, five losses, and one no-contest. The no-contest was with his recent opponent, Makoto Shinryu. However, he made sure to win the rematch and, most importantly, capture the flyweight title. The fight went down on 31 December 2023 at the Saitama Super Arena. Subsequently, he proposed to his girlfriend in the ring to make it a memory itched in his lifetime.

As such, Horiguchi came out on top by submitting his opponent in the second round. Soon, he surprised the fans and his girlfriend by going down on one knee. He proposed to her and asked her to marry him. As such, his girlfriend expressed her acceptance to receive a huge cheer from the Saitama Super Arena.
