Mark Zuckerberg has trained in combat sports for the past three years. He had also trained in MMA along with professionals. Now, he had torn his ACL in training and underwent surgery to fix it. Then, he posted a carousel of images on Instagram after his surgery. He mentioned it happened while sparring in preparation for a competitive MMA fight in early 2024.

In an Instagram post, Mark Zuckerberg said he was grateful to his team and the doctors for caring for him. Further, he was keen on competing in mixed martial arts after rehabilitation. As such, he was seen holding fists (fighter’s pose) in the picture, which was a sign that the billionaire was a true fighter. Nonetheless, coming from an injury is a tough task for any person. Here is what he wrote:

Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it. Grateful for the doctors and team taking care of me. I was training for a competitive MMA fight early next year, but now that's delayed a bit. Still looking forward to doing it after I recover. Thanks to everyone for the love and support.

A torn ACL is a nightmare for any athlete since the rehab takes a long time. But, it is a common injury in contact sports, and many athletes have come back from it. Mark Zuckerberg can surely come back from the injury and compete. But it takes mental resilience and commitment to do it.

Mark Zuckerberg had competed in Jiu-Jitsu tournaments and even won medals. He was seen training alongside Israel Adesanya, Alexander Volkanovski, and Khai Wu. Earlier, there was a lot of buzz for him fighting Elon Musk in a cage fight. The two went back and forth on social media. But, they couldn’t agree on mutual terms to set the fight. It could’ve been the biggest MMA fight in history.

Mark Zuckerberg was interested in Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts during the COVID-19 pandemic. He had been actively training since then. A few months back, the billionaire competed in his first BJJ tournament in Woodside, California. Moreover, he secured gold and silver medals in the same.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg had been training alongside the current PFL fighter, Khai Wu. Khai Wu served as an instructor and training partner for him and appreciated him for securing medals in his very first tournament. Zuckerberg won gold in the No-Gi Master 1 white belt division and silver in the Gi Master 2 white belt division. He competed in the featherweight class.

Mark Zuckerberg fighting Elon Musk in a cage fight was the talk of the town a few months back. The two have argued over many things, and they’ve been vocal about their feud. While they were serious about settling the dispute in a cage fight, it never materialized. Now, Zuckerberg had torn his ACL, and the possibility of making that fight has gone. But, he was unfazed and was determined to come back and compete in MMA.
